Joe Solecki

MMA Instructor

Bio

Joe Solecki began training Brazillian Jiu Jitsu in 1999 at age. While not being very physically gifted or naturally talented, he really enjoyed both the technical aspects of BJJ and also the intangibles of combat sports, such as the discipline and confidence that can be developed.

Joe began teaching in 2012, starting with youth classes and private lessons, and eventually began regularly teaching adult classes and seminars. He has developed a passion for spreading the martial art that he has benefitted from with others. Joe was promotoed to Black Belt in 2017, under 5th degree black belt John Hassett. Joe began competing in Jiu Jitsu 200 and continues to do so. He transitioned into mixed martial arts in 2015, while learning and developing proficiency in the other combat sports such as wrestling and kickboxing.

After a brief amateur career, Joe became a professional fighter in 2016 where he competed on the regional scene, until he was spotted by the UFC and given an opportunity to compete on the prestigious "Contender Series". There, after a 1st round submission victory, he was awarded a contract with the UFC where he currently competes today.
